Rabbi Alan Kalinsky, recently retired after a most productive career as the OU West Coast Director. He served with distinction as a Mentor to Rabbis and a Liaison to Synagogue Lay Leaders on the West Coast. In addition to his organizational and administrative work, he served as a Rabbinic Field Representative to OU Kosher - a role he continues to play. Prior to moving to Los Angeles, he served 2 Congregations on the East Coast. From 2005-2012, he served as the Rabbi of the Young Israel of North Beverly Hills. He served as a Chaplain in the USAF Reserves, and retired in 2002 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He is available to meet with your Rabbi and Lay Leadership- to create a plan of action for your Synagogue.
Rabbi Isaacs served as the Director of Community Engagement for the Orthodox Union from 2011-2018. In his role, he oversaw the expansion of the Synagogue Services Department and the Community Services offerings of the OU. Previously he served as the Director of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit’s Alliance for Jewish Education. His prior experience as a Shul president has given him insight into the inner workings of shuls and what is needed for their success.
